During this time, we understand the necessary safety legislation means that funerals are particularly difficult. Whilst the shop is currently closed, we are still offering funeral flowers. Please email us on flowers@misspickering.com
It is always an honour to be asked to create flowers to celebrate the life of those loved.
Using only the highest quality, seasonal flowers and herbs we create arrangements that reflect the personality and loves of the deceased. Most of our designs are a wilder garden style, where possible we incorporate a favourite flower, colour or scent. We have included vegetables for those who loved working on an allotment, pheasant feathers for those that loved country pursuits, and shells for those that loved the sea.
When circumstances allow, we offer a service that incorporates flowers and foliage from the deceased’s garden. Visiting the garden to cut a favourite rose, dahlia, or a branch from an apple tree.
We work closely with local funeral directors, ensuring that the flowers are appropriate for the service you have decided upon. Entirely biodegradable arrangements for Ketton green burial site, or flowers that can be reused for a wake.
Flowers don’t have to be left behind at a church or crematorium, they can be taken on to a celebration, or retuned to us and made into bouquets for the family.
We also offer church or crematorium flowers.
We create flowers for weddings using our signature wild and romantic style. Each wedding we undertake is as individual as the people marrying, whether that is in a castle, the village church or an outdoor ceremony.
We start with a private consultation, allowing us to understand the vision you have for your day, and offering suggestions on flower choices and styles of arrangements.
Along with the flowers, we also provide a prop hire service.
We have now permanently closed our shop to concentrate on growing our own flowers, flower deliveries and events.
We have taken all of our wonderful customers, suppliers, dog botherers and charming gentlemen with us.

This year saw the start of us growing our own flowers on a larger scale. Seeds were sown, tubers planted, and by late summer we had bucketfuls of flowers and herbs to bring to the shop. In amongst the flowers we planted vegetables and fruits to add to arrangments. Alpine strawberries, raspberries, artichokes and even chard have featured in our arrangements.
It hasn't all been idyllic, slugs put paid to seedlings, over enthusiastic hoeing to others, and Valentine wasn't as helpful as first hoped, but we have doubled the growing space for next year, and the tulip bulbs are in. You can see more of our growing on instagram.
Valentine is a Whippet/ Bedlington terrier cross. 7/8 Whippet 1/8 Bedlington terrier to be precise. He resides in the window, watching the world go by and being adored by all of Stamford. He has become quite the celebrity recently featuring in Town and Country magazine. You can see more of his antics on his own Instagram account @valentinewhippet
If you are coming from quite the distance to the shop purely for the purpose of seeing Valentine (you would be amazed at how many do...) please telephone first to ensure he hasn't gone out for the day.
Throughout the year we host a number of full day flower schools. Most of these are held in our Medieaval shop in the beautiful town of Stamford, England.

Each group is kept small no more than 6 attendees, and the aim is to teach you the mechanics and provide beautiful flowers for you to make whatever your heart desires. With free reign of all of the flowers in the shop, each attendee makes something entirely different and personal.

We also run some more specialised courses on location. How to decorate a marquee, church, home.
